Speaker Bio: Geerte Slappendel is a policy advisor on Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) in the UMC Utrecht Research Office, and representative for the research domain in the UMC Utrecht D&I Core Team. As part of her policy work, she also performs research on how to improve diversity and inclusion in the context of biomedical research and develops and runs workshops on D&I in research. In addition, she is a senior project manager with extensive experience navigating not only European funding, but also the complexities of managing international, multicultural and multidisciplinary research networks.
